PERSONALITY:What you see is what you get with Beth. She’s spunky and energetic all of the time, which is something she blames on her inability to focus. She’s always been a bit hyperactive, but that hasn’t stopped her from achieving her goals. It’s just made things a bit more wild along the way. A true goofball, Beth has absolutely no problem being the one people ask to do the stupid things at gatherings. Like jump on a table, eat fifty onions at one time, or sing Bohemian Rhapsody in the aisles of a grocery store. Always a bit lost in space, the girl really has no reservations when it comes to being her true dorky self.
This is due in part to her carefree nature. Beth is relaxed and sociable, always one to strike up a conversation with anyone around. She doesn’t mind being the outgoing one in a group and claims that being down-to-earth is what attracts the most friends. She’s a very friendly girl, so her loyalty is something she holds dear. For most of her life, Beth has always been the oddball. She never really fit into any clique in high school, and instead just bounced around from group to group looking for a place to fit in. Because of that identity crisis, Beth struggles with fitting in and can be a bit of a wanderer. She knows where her friends are, yes, but she’s too reserved to intrude upon them. So she finds it’s sometimes better to remain alone until she knows she fits in.
It’s during her alone time that she exposes her intellectual side. Most people wouldn’t even know it, but Beth is very smart. She went to school for nursing and even though medical school was much more difficult than she intended, Beth’s perseverance paid off. She’s always been determined, always lived with the idea that she has something to prove. Though she feels like medical school was something she was meant to do all her life, she really wishes she could branch out and show her competitive side. She attends the roller derby matches and dreams of being one of the girls, but she’d never possess the skill. Beth is far too insecure for that. Not to mention, she is very emotional. Beth tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, and it gets the best of her every time.

ORIGIN: Plano, Texas
HISTORY:
Life in a conservative town isn’t always easy. At least, as far as Janice Stephens was concerned. She was a well-to-do young woman with a strong path ahead of her. She had university plans ready to go, a career line planned out, and big dreams for herself. When she met Spencer Webster, those plans were only enhanced. Spencer was just as eager to make a name for himself as Janice was and together, he promised, they’re plans would be fulfilled. But before they could even step foot into their colleges of choice, Janice found out she was pregnant. Relatively young and definitely afraid, the couple did what all couples in the South are raised to do when such things happened – they quickly got married.
Now with college plans put on hold and a baby on the way, Janice and Stephen were forever united in their journey. Whether they liked it or not. That doesn’t mean they weren’t in love. On the contrary, the couple was definitely head over heels for one another at the time. But a baby changes a lot of things and the responsibility was definitely far too tolling for the young couple. But they pushed through all the struggles and welcomed their daughter into the world when they weren’t even 20 years old yet. Janice, who had originally planned to become a teacher, stayed at home and took care of their daughter- Elizabeth. Spencer, who was already busy trying to support the family, spent much of his time away at work. As hard as it was for Janice to understand, their little daughter rarely saw her father at all.
And that was something that wasn’t ever going to change. Because they grew up in strict, conservative homes, the Webster parents weren’t receiving any kind of support or assistance from their own parents and it took a toll on their little family most financially and emotionally. Janice was forced to work night jobs while Spencer was always during the day, even taking business trips on weekends where he wouldn’t return for days. As Beth grew older, she started to realize that the only way she could get the attention she longed for was by acting out. She wasn’t rebellious and she didn’t force the principal to make constant phone calls to her house. She acted out another way – with comedy. Always a bit of a jokester, Beth was quick to pull pranks, tell stories she deemed funny, or amuse the people around her with comedy routines. During this time, she established herself immediately as the class clown.
It’s a title she hasn’t really lived down to this day. She’s only just become prouder of it, in truth. About the time Beth was ready to start high school, the constant fighting she heard from her parent’s bedroom turned into something much worse and it didn’t take long before Beth’s mother told her they were leaving. Her father was having an affair, and he was beginning to abuse her mother. When Beth found out, she was devastated. She knew there had been problems, but this was beyond her comprehension. Growing up in a place that didn’t take these things lightly, Beth had no idea what to think. She wanted to hate her father, but she didn’t even know how. She wanted to rebel against her mother for giving her such a horrible life, but she couldn’t.
All she could do was move to Salt Lake City with her mother, as was demanded of her. Still the same goofball she’d always been, Beth now had to reestablish herself in a new town. And with a new broken heart. When she settled in the new place, she immediately started reaching out to make new friends. But it wasn’t always easy. She didn’t know where she fit in. High school was full of cliques and if you were new, you had to fit in somewhere. Beth struggled to find that place and ended up acting out even more, just to get some kind of satisfaction of being needed. Soon enough she had a group of friends and her attention-seeking days only grew from there.
But at the back of her mind during all of this adjustment was her father. Beth had never really gotten a chance to know the man, and had a bit of a distrust for all men as a result of it. She soldiered on, attending college right out of high school and planning to be a nurse. In her free time, Beth started attending roller derby matches. It was something she’d always wished she could do but was never able to muster the courage for doing so. She wanted to be an announcer, but knew she didn’t have the skills for that either and settled instead for listening to some of her favorite announcers. The funny twins, they keep her coming back every time.
When she graduated from medical school, she received a letter from her father. Inside was a note, addressing all the things Spencer wished he could have said but never did. He informed her why they had given her the name Elizabeth. Spencer wanted to call her Beth because one of his favorite songs was “Beth” by Kiss. When Beth listened to the song, she had no idea just how right he was in choosing that name. Ever since, that song has been a bit of a personal staple for her. She just wishes there was another man that was singing it to her instead. She’s never been in love as a result of all the lack of trust and emotional struggle she’s had, but she knows that will change with time. Now she’s busy trying to keep up with her job, her friends, and her emotions. One step at a time.

SAMPLE:Today was full of promises. At least, as far as Eli was concerned. He had planned this day for a long time. Years, in fact. If it were to be technical, Eli had planned this day for precisely seven and a half years. He was almost sixteen then. Full of energy and ideas and jokes. Shorter hair, but still messy. Absolutely untamable. He’d laid eyes on a brunette vixen with a bright green t-shirt and a polka dot scrunchie in her hair. Her shoes made soft clicking noises when she walked and she was so full of mystery that it made Eli actually stay awake in class – if only just to study her from the back of the room, like any smitten teenager should. It was a sad game, though; this girl hated him. But Eli could honestly say he loved her from the beginning. Which is why waking up next to Bridget this morning was still the most thrilling part of his day. He couldn’t wake up and look at her without smiling. And his grandmother always said if you start the day with a smile, nothing could go wrong. And Eli needed all the help he could get.
He wasn’t much of a planner. In fact, the only thing Eli had ever planned in his life was their move to London – and that was partly because Bridget had taken quite a bit of control in that department – and how he was going to pay off the car he bought upon arrival. Aside from that, plans were foreign to the boy. Yet, the past few days had been full of plans. Small details, perfectly coordinated moments, a lot of bribing, and more casual conversation with people he didn’t even like than Eli would ever wish to repeat. But it would be worth it. If his crazy brain decided to make sense for once, and if his dreamer idealogy actually came true. Eli would have to worry about all of this later, though. Because now it was about impressing his girlfriend on a day when she was probably going to feel sick, irritated, pained, and miserable. Baby Bandicoot was really starting to make his presence known. Eli spent the majority of his morning preparing breakfast. He usually failed at such a task, his bacon burning or his toast spontaneously bursting into flames. But today he actually managed to cook up decent pancakes – adding a dose of cinnamon and blueberries like his grandfather used to. It took him a while to decide whether or not to wake Bridget up. He wanted to surprise her with his provided breakfast, but he was such an impatient creature that he didn’t think he could handle the wait.
Eventually it was decided to leave the breakfast for her to find. With a note, of course. Eli's notes were his trademark, but today’s would be special. He grabbed a pen and shuffled around the drawers until he located a small sticky note – one that was in the shape of a teapot for whatever reason they had those in their house – and scribbled down a quick note. Eli knew Bridget would be looking for a note upon waking up. Instead of his long love notes filled with the many reasons he adored her and how beautiful she looked in her pajamas and messy hair, Eli kept it simple:
"LOVE OF MY LIFE. APPLE OF MY EYE. MOTHER OF MY BABY~
Instead of a novel, I’ll keep this note short
Please eat this breakfast and be a good sport
It’s delicious and nutritious and made just for you
But meet me in the car whenever you’re through."
So maybe Eli wasn’t a poet. But he tried. He quickly placed the note next to the plate and searched the house for the important bits of attire he needed today. He never put much thought into his outfit. He found it unimportant and half o his clothes belonged to Bridget now anyway. Pocketing a few important pieces of merchandise, Eli was finally ready. But Bridget knew he didn’t have class today and he’d taken the entire day off from work. So he feared his girlfriend wouldn’t even come downstairs to see the note. Eli would have to be proactive. He quickly ran up the stairs and hesitated outside their bedroom door for a moment before knocking on the door a few times and swiftly running down the stairs and out to his car. He didn’t want to wake Bridget. No. But his eagerness – and certainly his nerves – were growing and he was too impatient to wait another minute for what he had planned.
